St Mary the Virgin (Bishops Cannings)

St. Mary the Virgin, Bishops Cannings

Our village sits about three miles northeast of Devizes alongside the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Our Parish extends to include the village of Coate and the hamlets of Bourton, Horton and Little Horton. We have a Primary School in the village of Bishop’s Cannings and within our Parish three Public Houses. St Mary the Virgin Church dates from the 12th and 13th century and we are so fortunate that some of the earliest features have survived. It is a grade 1 listed building. Its spire is a loved focal point in the valley; it has eight cast bells which are still rung regularly. Our worship is weekly and we are fortunate to have a well-established choir. More information on our services can be found under calendar.

Please note that St Mary's is open daily from 9am to 5pm BST.
